Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) includes electric power on its mid-term business plan as it will launch eight new plug-in hybrid vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and full electric vehicles by 2015.

Part of Mitsubishi’s plan is to diminish the impact of its roster of vehicles to the environment and lessen its dependence to the traditional combustion engines.
Among the new Mitsubishi vehicles is a commercial mini EV for Japan that will jump-start in Japan this year as well as plug-in hybrid vehicles for Japan, Europe, and the US by next year.
There will be improvements when it comes to the lightweight parts, battery energy density, and eco-driving support system.

In line with the manufacturing of hybrid cars and fuel efficient cars, Hyundai is setting its pace on creating its very first plug-in vehicle.

Mike O’Brien, Head of Product Planning, reported to PluginCars.com that the first plug-in cars of Hyundai will soon be mass marketed. The way the hybrid cars of Hyundai were developed will make it easy to be turned into plug-in hybrid cars.
A good example is the Sonata Hybrid. For this car to become a plug-in type of hybrid car, bigger batteries are necessary to power it up.
O’Brien mentioned that it took this long for Hyundai to play in the plug-in market because of marketing tactics.
It is for us to find out how Hyundai will conquer the market with plug-in hybrid cars.
